These cookies are ideal to eat along with the morning coffee or tea! The oat gives it a chewy and soft texture, and the small chunks of dark chocolate brings something special, making impossible to stay with only one cookie.
There not much to know; these cookies are really easy to come by, besides, they are delicious. The oat flakes gives a chewy and creamy texture, and because of it, these are not crunchy cookies – as, most of the times, cookies should be.
Tips and variations
Fruit: you can substitute the apple with any other fruit, like banana, wild berries, blueberries… They will certainly do a great combo with the oatmeal!
Dry fruits: the same with dry fruits. Raisins are maybe the first dry fruit most people think of, but since it is hard to enjoy them – rather you love them, or you hate them -, you can always use walnuts or hazelnuts. Be aware in this case, dry fruits have a bigger percentage of humidity, so you will have to adapt the recipe.
Freezing: it is possible to freeze the dough, right before it goes to the oven. The ideal is to leave them prepared in a tray with parchment paper, spaced between them and covered with cling film. You can freeze them 2 days max.
